Pharmacy First
Pharmacy First is an NHS service that encourages patients to visit their local pharmacy first instead of going to their GP for a range of conditions which can be assessed and treated by pharmacists. The conditions that are covered and the eligible patients can access free advice and treatment for includes (but is not limited to): Urinary Tract Infection - for women age 16 to under 65 years), Impetigo and Infected nappy rash. Think pharmacy first. Local and convenient access to expert advice and treatments.
Outer ear infection treatment
This is a private (paid for) service from your Pharmacist for antibiotic/steroid spray to treat otitis externa (inflammation of the outer ear canal) likely to be due to infection.
New Medicine Service
Providing support for patients diagnosed with a long term condition who have a newly prescribed medicine. To help improve your adherence and your understanding of the medicine generally leading to better health outcomes.
Flu Vaccination Service (NHS over 65)
Seasonal Influenza (Flu) vaccination is available every year to help protect both adults and children at risk of flu and its complications.
Blood testing
This private (paid for) service is provided by our pharmacist. The small blood sample is taken by finger prick and sent away to our partnering lab for results, so if you are worried about any of the following health conditions - cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid, heart, kidney, or liver we can take a small blood sample to check your levels. The lab can also check your vitamin levels, sports fitness levels and do a general well woman/man service and many more.
Blood Pressure Checks
High blood pressure (hypertension) affects 1 in 3 adults in the UK. If left untreated it can cause heart problems, strokes and damage to vital organs. Therefore, it’s crucial to be aware of the risks and how you can reduce them. That’s where we can help, why not visit us and have one of our trained pharmacy staff members check your blood pressure for free.
